Profit rose 89% to $110.6 million or $1.35 per share compared to a year ago where the company earned net income of $58.6 million or 75 cents per share. However, ex-items the biotech firm reported $1.76 per share and topped Wall Street analysts’ expectations by $.20. Revenue for the quarter grew by almost 15% to $596.6 million versus expectations of $586.3 million. Sales of Treanda, the company’s non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma treatment, grew by 62% in the quarter and were easily one highlight of the results.
