Vivus' Qnexa Panel: What Might Have Been Rockford Coscia submits:Last week Vivus (VVUS) released its two-year SEQUEL trial data. A lot of talk about what impact this data may have had on Qnexa’s advisory panel meeting has taken place – and with good reason. If the FDA decides to follow the recommendations of the panel closely, which they usually do, the new long-term clinical trial data could mean good things for Qnexa going forward. I wanted to take a look at the Qnexa panel’s responses vote-by-vote to see how things might have been if the two-year data was available then.The transcript of the Qnexa panel in its entirety can be found here (pdf).Keep in mind that the two-year data will not be used by the FDA to make its decision on Qnexa’s October 28 PDUFA action date. In my mind, this makes a complete response letter (CRL) likely given the outcome of the advisory committee panel.
