| Delcath Systems' Cancer Study Results Reveal Huge Potential Douglas Estadt submits: Delcath Systems, Inc. The exact numbers shown are 398 days vs. 124 with the best alternative care. There were significant factors we think were overlooked or misunderstood in Monday's market action, including: The fact that the survival rate tripled for cancer patients treated with PHP (Percutaneous Hepatic Perfusion).The latest data was even better than the initial press release from April. The hepatic PFS (primary endpoint) was 245 days in the PHP arm and 49 days in the BAC (best alternative care) arm.The estimate for peak annual U.S. sales is $745 million if the PHP System is approved by the FDA for the treatment of patients with Melanoma that has spread to the liver. Pfizer Loses in Court ... Again Pharmalot submits: The Nevada Supreme Court has upheld a $58 million judgment that was awarded to three Nevada women, who claimed they suffered breast cancer after taking the Prempro hormone replacement therapy made by Wyeth, which is now owned by Pfizer (PFE). The ruling confirms a 2007 decision in favor of Arlene Rowatt, Jeraldine Scofield and Pamela Forrester, who were originally awarded $134 million, but that was later reduced by the trial judge (back story here and here). Forrester and Rowatt, however, have reportedly since passed away.In explaining the 6-0 decision, Justice Michael Cherry wrote noted that studies dating back to the 1980s found links between breast cancer and the drug.
